Adria Arjona Talks About Her Role In Life Of The Party

At 26, Adria Arjona, daughter of Guatemalan singer Ricardo Arjona, has made a career of her own merits. Her thing is not to go on stage in front of thousands of fans to "compete" with her father, but what she is passionate about is placing herself in front of the cameras to give life to different characters. Her affinity with them, despite her young age, has already brought her to Hollywood.

This beautiful and pleasant actress spoke with us about the comedy Life of the Party, in which she acts with Melissa McCarthy and which opens this May 11 in theaters in the United States.

The story tells the "perfect" life of Deanna (McCarthy), a good wife, mother and housewife. She leads an apparently well-off life, but one day her whole world is transformed when her husband abandons her.

Deanna decides to go back to college to get her degree. She coincides in the same class as her daughter, who does not like this decision very much. It will fully integrate into university life, that which is made up of night parties and crazy outings with boys. An experience that will make her rediscover herself in the last course of her career.

"My character is Amanda, who is a student. Amanda is a sweet girl and unsure of herself and with many fears, but when she meets Deanna she comes out of her shell,”says Adria, who also records performances in Pacific Rim: Uprising, The Belko Experiment, among others. She is currently in production on the Netflix crime thriller Triple Frontier, alongside Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Pedro Pascal, and Garrett Hedlund.

According to what she tells us, working with McCarthy confirmed that women are capable of being multifaceted, not only because of her character in comedy, in which she wants to excel after a divorce while still being a mother, but in real life because in this project the actress designed, wrote, acted: “That woman can do everything. It is a huge example for any actress."

Why actress and not a singer? We asked him, to which he replied: "I'm not very good at music" and although we asked him to sing the introduction of one of Dad's songs, he refused to laugh.

In a very humble way, he accepted that he likes to trust his abilities and that he knew that at some point he was going to set foot in the big film industry. That yes, never imagined that it happened so soon.

“I have very good people around me and I feel that I have the best support. I am very grateful to be called to all these projects and I know that it is my time to learn”, she assures.
