The decision to have a lover or 200 is purely personal. If someone enjoys experiencing sex with different people and does it healthily; that is, protecting your physical and emotional health and protecting the other, there is no reason to worry

The problem is that when that person, who enjoys or needs to have sex with a variety of lovers, does not take care of himself, does not use protection, does not take precautions, what happens is not pleasant at all: there is transmission of diseases, unwanted pregnancies and even broken hearts.

This practice of having sex with many people is called promiscuity (as opposed to monogamy). For some cultures promiscuity is a negative or derogatory term, so the science and researchers of modern sex life try to avoid this term and replace it with something like people with numerous lovers.

Whichever way that sexual practice is defined, it carries certain risks; For example, as I mentioned before, you are more likely to get a sexually transmitted disease, to have an unplanned pregnancy, and to be socially looked down on (it still happens !!).

Another risk of promiscuity? Apparently those who have many lovers (especially men) have more problems when it comes to procreating.

Scholars see this as a "competition problem": the more couples have sex, the more "sperm competition" there is, and the chances of conceiving drop.
