Cultivating gratitude requires a lot of will and discipline. But if we learn to be more appreciative, our overall health and well-being will improve. Many studies have shown that gratitude positively influences the strengthening of the immune system, fights depression, lowers blood pressure, prevents heart disease, increases pain tolerance and encourages us to be physically active and take care of our bodies.

Practicing gratitude is not a natural for most people. Many of us have been injured, and as a result of that pain, it is extremely difficult to forgive and appreciate what we have. When we live in past pain and suffering, we allow anger, rage, depression, fear, frustration, etc. take control of our lives.

Facing the situation and overcoming those issues by letting go of the pain is a great step to open our hearts and accept life as a blessing that God has given us.

No matter how difficult life has been, this is the only one we have. When we realize that life is a gift, we appreciate it and let go of those thoughts that no longer serve us. We appreciate every moment and focus on fully enjoying and living in the present moment.

Being grateful can help you find the ideal love

Here are some very simple exercises that will help you start implementing the practice of gratitude:

When you got up, just say thank you.

  • At bedtime, just say thank you.
  • Once you have started simply giving thanks you can add what things, situations, people, etc. you are grateful
  • Today I appreciate because I was able to get out of my bed.
  • Today I appreciate because I have health.
  • Thanks because I have health and food to eat (many today do not have them).

Every day you can keep adding reasons why you express gratitude and the less you think about it you will have thousands of them. Because you will see that the more you are grateful, the more reasons you will have to be grateful.
