Video: Does A Glass Of Red Wine Equal One Hour Of Gym? By Dr. Daniel Linares (@LinaresMD)
The next time someone calls you and you're watching your favorite novel with your glass of red wine, tell them you're in the gym. According to a University of Alberta study, a glass of red wine can equal an hour of exercise in the gym.
This is possible thanks to an antioxidant called resveratrol, which is found in the grape skin. Due to the way wine is produced, resveratrol is only found in red wine and not white.
Dr. Oz himself called it the anti-aging of all antioxidants due to its power to slow down the natural aging process, among other things.
To better understand antioxidants are very important in our body because they eliminate free radicals that result from toxins ingested, aspirated or absorbed through the skin. These free radicals can cause countless diseases like cancer, or inflammations in the body, if they are not eliminated.
Did you know that you could be suffering from depression and not know it? By Dr. Daniel Linares
The study highlights that resveratrol helps improve heart function, physical strength (stamina), and overall muscle strength. The results of this study can be very beneficial for people with physical disabilities, and who cannot exercise like others.
So your next decision will be: "Cardio or Cabernet". A glass of wine a day is beneficial to health, but remember that with alcohol everything should be done in moderation and responsibility. There are also vitamin supplements with resveratrol for those who do not drink alcohol.
