Video: Leonella González, Health Coach, Teaches Us To Master The Desire To Eat Sweet

Perhaps you are one of those who think that stopping eating sweet is something you cannot achieve. However, we spoke with health coach Leonella González and she gave us very good advice that we can apply to eliminate those cravings that sometimes become something stronger than us
Among the recommendations given by the also co-owner of Juiced Up in Myrtle Beach, SC., To eliminate sugar cravings are the following habits:
Incorporate natural juices
For Leonella, natural juices are an excellent tool to control the desire to eat sweets. The expert recommends:
Celery Juice: Celery provides us with the electrolytes and minerals that our bodies need to reduce cravings. Mix two apples, eight celery stalks, and a pinch of cinnamon.
Fruit and seed combination juices: The expert recommends soaking a tablespoon of chia seeds in half a cup of coconut water for 15 minutes; empty in a blender and incorporate two tablespoons of pineapple or blueberry juice, juice of half a lemon and half a cup of purified water. Take it half an hour before exercising or in the morning, you will avoid cravings for sweet or junk food.
Green juices. Use the benefits of spinach to reduce cravings, just mix them with cucumber, celery, pineapple, and lemon.
Take apple cider vinegar
Leonella assures us that drinking water throughout the day, but with one or two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, helps to reduce sugar cravings. "This vinegar contains acetic acids that have been shown to regulate blood sugar levels, and if we take it on an empty stomach and about 30 minutes before dinner, we will stimulate metabolism and reduce appetite."
Take magnesium before bed
Magnesium works wonders for sugar cravings. Gonzalez recommends taking 500 mg before going to sleep.
Always eat at the same times
The eternal debate: what is better? Eating two, three or five times a day? Leonella assures us that eating three healthy meals more or less strong, and eating two healthy snacks during the day, will make you less likely to experience the mid-afternoon slump.
Do not eat fruit in the afternoon
Contrary to what has been said a lot, the coach assures that it is not good to eat fruits in the afternoon, since doing so causes us to have sugar cravings later. Likewise, González recommended eating them in the morning and on an empty stomach, this helps us reduce cravings throughout the day.
Add lemon juice to your meals
González recommends that we sprinkle lemon juice on meals because their acidity has been shown to prevent fluctuations in blood sugar levels.
Choose nutritious cravings
If you have the habit of having a sweet in the afternoon, instead of resisting the temptation (which can increase your cravings), opt for healthy alternatives. She suggests keeping healthy options on hand, like Greek yogurt with nuts and cinnamon, vegetable sticks with hummus, or protein foods.
Eat protein and fat
These macronutrients keep the blood sugar level stable, reducing sweet cravings. As for protein, Leonella recommends getting healthy fats, avocado, salmon, coconut and olive oil, nuts and seeds.
Learn how to manage stress
In addition to healthy food alternatives, the health coach says that we must control stress since sugar cravings are often due to our stress levels and emotional needs.
Add fiber to your meals
Not only is it good for digestion: adding it to your meals helps you stay full longer, preventing you from falling for sweet cravings. González recommends green leafy vegetables, whole grains (such as quinoa, brown rice, and millet) and low-fat vegetables, such as squash.
