Video: 4 Easy Steps To Fully Enjoy Your Reading Routine
Among the many things that we can thank books, there is one that is particularly useful these days: that they take us to other worlds, without leaving home
And whether you are just entering the world of reading, or you are one of the compulsive accumulators of books, there are a series of steps that we can follow to enjoy more of that time dedicated to letters.
Barnes and Nobel, one of the largest bookstores in the United States, shares a series of recommendations for a good shelf-care. Take note!
Create a comfortable space
Reading always flows better when you are comfortable and if you can create a cozy space to read, the better. Whether in your room or in the living room, it is always good to dedicate your favorite area for those moments of reading. Scented candles, a blanket, your favorite drink and a dim light are some elements that enhance any reading time. For before bed, you can use a mini led lamp that you can place on your book.
Read a new genre
Leaving the comfort zone of your tastes can give you very pleasant surprises. Mystery and thriller, history, science fiction, fantasy, biographies, or novels are just a few of the genres you can explore. If you don't know where to start, look for the best-sellers section; you will surely find a new favorite book.
Enjoy family reading
Spending a few minutes a day reading with the family brings multiple benefits: it increases family coexistence, promotes the habit of reading and develops comprehensive skills for the little ones. But, in addition to reading a book at home, you can use the virtual storytime that Barnes & Noble offers on its website. You can see an example here
Join a book club
Although now you cannot physically go to a reading group, you can do it virtually through various platforms. As an example, you can connect to the reading events that Barnes & Noble holds every month. The next one will take place this June 2 at 7pm (ET), via Facebook. In this event, the book All Adults Here, by the acclaimed writer Elizabeth Gilbert, will be discussed.
Follow these recommendations and start implementing a more enjoyable reading routine during this quarantine.
