Video: How To Know When I Should Cut My Hair
We have always heard that we should cut our hair ends at least every six months. This is to make sure that our hair looks healthy and helps us maintain the look we originally did. However, this rule does not apply to all hair types or lifestyles because it may be that your hair grows fast or you just do not have time to take care of it as necessary, so it is important to know that this six month theory does not always apply.
Given this clarification, we decided to speak with the renowned Puerto Rican stylist Haime Camacho of Avant Garde Salon and Spa in the city of Miami to help us identify the signs that will help you know if it is time to cut the ends of the hair or if it is time to fix the haircut and bring it back to life to make it look healthier.
"A good haircut is important to prolong the look but it is also necessary that you take care of your hair with products and treatments according to the type of hair," Haime started telling us.
We know that hair dyes, lack of hydration, and the use of irons and dryers cause hair to become dull and rough. If we do not give the necessary care when we know that we use these elements we will see that the hair needs to be cut. This to eliminate split ends and the change of color in them, since when you need to cut the ends, they take on a yellow tone, which makes the hair look burnt.
- Taking into account the above, Haime recommends that if this is the case we should cut our hair at least every two months, since in this way it grows much healthier.
- Another indication that we must consider is that if when you comb it and the hair loses volume and the hairstyle you want to do does not fit you, it is time to cut it. "If your hair does not fit as it did when you just had the look done, it means that you should go to the hairdresser to have your ends cut and fix the cut," says the expert.
- If when you comb it you notice that the tips get very tangled even if you comb it regularly, or if when you brush it it sounds and even breaks, it is indicative that you should cut the tips at least two centimeters, this to avoid breaking your hair and to restore softness.
"I always tell my clients that hair, like the body, needs to be consented to, so in addition to the usual haircut, it is also important that you visit your beauty salon to apply more intense treatments and help you to improve the quality of your hair and minimize damage with the processes to which you regularly subject it, "Camacho concluded.
