Esteban Cortázar Leaves Ungaro

The well-known French brand seems to be looking for new talent. According to the WWD publication, The Colombian designer, who had previously presented 3 collections as Ungaro's main designer, would not have reached an agreement regarding the brand's marketing and advertising strategy.

Apparently, Mounir Moufarrige, president of the firm, has been looking for a celebrity for his future advertising campaigns with the aim of modernizing it and giving the firm a new look. One of the artists who has been considered is the actress Lindsay Lohan and, according to the New York Post, Cortazar would have strongly opposed this. "Esteban is threatening that he will leave the company if they bring Lindsay Lohan as a consultant," a fashion expert told the newspaper.

Although WWD assures that the hiring of Lindsay Lohan would have nothing to do with the design part, on Friday of last week Cortazar would have filed a lawsuit against the French house. Today, it is not yet known who will replace the young man from Bogotá who, at just 18 years old, successfully presented his first collection in New York until Ungaro hired him at the age of 23.
