Custo Dalmau has always said that life is color but his fall 2011 collection, which was presented last night, seems to say otherwise. Although it is true that towards the end of the show many of the vibrant tones that have characterized Custo Barcelona appeared, a good first part of the show was dedicated to garments in warm and beautiful shades of brown, camel, gray and beige. Wool was the star of the night in all its textures, whether it was felt, with bangs, graphic jacquards and distressed fabrics (manipulated) to make them look light like organza. The pantyhose with multi-colored prints, as well as the shoes made of fabrics and applications, perfectly completed the look giving it a jovial and fun touch. It was truly refreshing to appreciate the always original designs of this Catalan brand, in more discreet tones. For those who appreciate the genius of Custo's creations but were perhaps intimidated by color, this collection will give you the opportunity to enjoy fascinating dresses, tops and sweaters with mosaics, fur and sequins…. but this time in a more combinable color palette.
