Flor de María adds two models of sandals to its Flor de María brand through its “Fiesta” collection!
These two new models are: Elva (red), a shoe with a sexy, timeless and very delicate style. Its 4”(100 mm) heel creates a leg lengthening effect, while the cushioned insole balances the arch. And Niria (gold), made of synthetic snakeskin leather and transparent PVC. Combining femininity and modernity with an elegant and light style. Its heel is also 4 "(100 mm) and they have the same cushioned insole, which provides comfort when walking.
For this reason, we talked to the designer in depth about this new collection, her passion for shoes and where she sees her business in a few years. Don't miss everything he told us! SM.: What inspired you to launch these two new party models in your collection?
FM: From the beginning I wanted it to be a tribute to Latin culture, that's why I called it "FIESTA COLLECTION". But unlike "Season 1" this time I was not inspired by a country or had a mood board. This collection was born from a chandelier, yes a chandelier! I was sitting in a restaurant and when I looked up I saw her and she took my breath away. At that time, I asked a waiter for a pencil and paper and in less than 5 minutes I designed "Elva" and "Niria".
SM.: Who are your references in the world of fashion and specifically in shoe designers? <
FM: I have always liked what Carolina Herrera and Óscar de la Renta have done, not only because they are Latino, but because of their essence. My favorite shoe designer has always been Christian Louboutin, he's a genius to me! His shoes are a dream.
SM.: How are you going to expand your brand? What would be your dream? FM:I am living my dream right now! Imagine how long I dreamed of having a shoe line and now it is a reality. The response I have had, since I launched the line in October last year, has been very good, thank God. Yes, I imagined that some celebrities would wear my shoes, but when I saw them in Kylie Jenner's Insta Stories, less than three months after releasing "Flor de Maria" is something I can't explain. So I live my dream since I open my eyes every morning. Eventually I would like to ship worldwide and have my own store! SM.: What has been the greatest challenge and the greatest satisfaction in launching your own line of shoes? The biggest challenge has been to publicize my line without having the capital that the big brands have. These brands invest thousands of dollars in marketing and that is not my case. The greatest satisfaction has been seeing that people love my shoes. Several girls already have up to five pairs of "Flor de Maria", sometimes I can't believe it. And obviously, seeing some celebrities with my shoes on is something that fills me with emotion.
